This historic waterfront property offers incredible views and wildlife, an 8-person spa, an outdoor kitchen and fireplace, private beaches at low tide, two outdoor showers, a firepit, a kayak/canoe launch, a kayak shack with Hydro-Bikes, Kayaks and a Paddle Boat for our guest’s use, pond, creek, gazebo with benches (perfect for picnics), creekside Tea House/She-Shed & multiple entertainment areas.
The mild microclimate of Alsea Bay results in temperatures that are generally 10 degrees warmer, with much less wind than the oceanfront.
Guests are welcome to bring their own non-motorized watercraft. For guests with boats, the new Waldport boat launch ramp and marina is right across the bay.
The wildlife is incredible. On a daily basis, we see harbor seals, cranes, cormorants, herons, and river otters. Bald eagles and falcons nest on the property. There are occasional orca sightings. An incredible variety of waterfowl. Bunnies, squirrels and chipmunks scamper through the back yard in the spring and summer.
Please note that this listing is for the main home on the estate. We live here part of the year in an adjacent guesthouse with a separate entrance and driveway. We generally do not use the common area amenities when our guests are in residence, so they can enjoy them undisturbed.
When we are not in residence, (often during the summer) the guest house will also likely be rented, and it has its own spa and grill so you will not be sharing these amenities.

We have four extremely friendly Rottweilers and a Bombay cat, BC, who considers himself the fifth Rottweiler. They enjoy coming to greet our guests, and then return to their fulltime jobs of sleeping, swimming in the bay, and patrolling the shoreline for marauding Harbor Seals.
If anyone in your party is nervous around, or allergic to, large dogs (or Bombay cats), we are not a good fit for you.
current COVID19 outbreak, we are taking additional steps to ensure the health and safety of our guests. Our homes are professionally sanitized after each guest, with all doorknobs, light switches, thermostats, remote controls, etc. treated with antiviral-antibacterial agents. Bedding is washed on the hottest settings with bleach.

Cancellation Policy: One hundred percent (100.00%) of the total booking charges (less $250.00 cancellation fee) will be refunded if the cancellation is made more than 60 days prior to the arrival date of the reservation. For cancellations made within 60 days prior to the arrival date, no refund will be issued.

Roy is a physician, and Lauri owned a commercial brokerage and commercial property management company in San Diego before moving here in 2013. There are multiple areas to gather or enjoy some solo time at the property. Coffee on the patio in the morning, wine in the gazebo in the afternoon, meditation or a quiet moment with a good book in the Creekside She-Shed.
Spa time and epic crab cookouts in the Pavilion. Family olympics or river exploration with the watercraft. Fishing, crabbing and clamming can be done right from the property. You can explore the ruins of the original town and picnic on one of our private beaches.

Master Bath One has a large tiled shower, a jetted tub, dual vanities and lots of storage plus beautiful garden views. Master Bath Two is cozy with garden views, a hand-painted sink and a shower/tub combo. Lots of storage. Full Bath Three is a large bathroom with a double vanity and glass shower/tub combo. It has a door leading to the back deck and spa. Half Bath One is in the laundry room located off the kitchen. |
